Hello
currently I restore my second engine, which I bought. And I have the question, what kind of engine block this, MB, GPW? On the surface the oil pan is a date in the corner wrapped (6 26 1944)
I have found no identification. Maybe someone can help with:

Is that engine block serial number from a generator? PB4224 isn't from a jeep. The dipstick is from a generator, isn't it?
Is it true real Jeeps have flat fenders?

oh,
but the number is definitely of a Engine.
the digits seem original, while the BP seems from another time

then I try the motor, which stand 30 years outdoor covered with a nylon.
after cleaning the oil pan and the change the stock ... we managed to get running him with the crank.
therefore I decided initially to mount it in this state, and continue with the body

Hello Heinz,
Looks like a great adventure to the high altitudes !
Your jeep is looking great surrounded by those German Kubelwagons ,
Please post more pictures of your unique, original jeep on long range adventures !
You did a great job saving your jeep from oblivion as a pile of parts,
to a testament of preserving the past for future generations .

Hi!
I like to put new photos on the Forum!
It was a trip of 300 miles in two days. We drove to a meeting of military vehicles
Driving on the Stilfser Joch Pass in the morning:
Arrived at the meeting point:
Driving around miles and miles on dirt roads:
After two days, three pass, two mountain huts, three full tanks and an empty battery, we came home three without problems

Nice pics of the trip up into the clouds! Lots of very interesting vehicles on the journey. Very nice work on your jeep, too!
