Fantastic work this, and giving me an insight to what i can expect with mine, how highly do you rate the shrinking disc, being UK based too i have the Stakesy`s available to me, hopefully it will help with hood, fender, and body dents.

Thanks Steve. I think there's a pretty clear pattern regarding rot on Jeeps, you can make it harder or easier depending upon how much original metal you want to retain. The JMP panels are brilliant, and they do make it easier to go down the full replacement route, particularly as regards floors. This is the second tub I've done, having rebuilt an ACM1 last year. I made a few mistakes there, and learned some good lessons.
Mixed thoughts on the shrinking disc. I found it quite useful on small dents and imperfections, not so good on larger areas, where you need hammer, dolly & heat, and more skill than I've got. The shrinking disc process is very subtle, at first you think nothing's happening. It takes time and patience.

Interesting to see your Ford drum.
On my October 44 MB, both right drums are Ford, with same markings.

Make sure your sector shaft nubs aren't also worn out from rubbing the worm gear. I had that issue several years ago and actually had one of those nubs break off when I was moving the jeep around my garage. Long story short, I wasn't able to steer it fully one direction and had to replace the sector and worm shafts. Would have made for a hell of an experience if it would have broken while driving...

Progress stalled at the end of last summer as I have spent the time since preparing the family house for sale, the legacy of a long-ago divorce that needs settling now the kids have flown the nest.
In the background I have been wrestling with my other MB, a 1942, which is finally back on the road over 2 years later than intended after a series of replacement/rebuilt engine disasters. Calsat's engine is now rebuilt too, I had both done together by Richard Payne and his excellent team at GPW Workshop in the UK.
