Post by HH Birnie » Sun Mar 01, 2009 10:19 am

These are the first picture of my journey to restore my Ford GPW. I hope I download the pictures correct to see.
I don't know anything about the story of my jeep. I found several numbers. But what happens after the factory. The last owner....? I have some information of the department of revenue Alabama papers, who send the jeep to Holland, the can't help me further.
The dealer in Holland can't help me also..... Who can help me? I can send you the info of the department of revenue Alabama
Greetings from the Netherlands.

Nice work Hans!

I think this set of BEFORE pictures should be available for every guy who thinks HIS tub is "too far gone" to save....I know a lot of new metal will be required to restore that tub, but even seeing (through it in fact) how rusted it is, I think a quality resto will give the owner more satisfaction when asked, "Is that a reproduction tub?" and he can answer, "No, it's a restored tub"....

Keep us updated, this looks like it's going to be a real head-turner when finished!

Excellent work - how much of the tub did you use or did you buy a replacement?

Also - this photo didn't come out in your first post:
