That garage is tight all right, but at least you have a space  .
You´re going fast on this resto, well done; looking forward to see more progress!

Hi René,

Het gaat goed. Thanks for the compliments. How is your willys-project going??
I need to have everything dismantled before august, then it is going to the sandblaster (luckly i have a friend who is a sandblaster). I also got some more tools, my own sandblasting machine for the small parts.

No photo's right now, i can't find my camera  .

Gideon,

Not so good with my project.
Didn't do anything last few months.
Busy with the wife and 2 kids and working a lott.
But the good news is that i have all the parts etc that i need to finish the job. :D
Some parts double (a few fenders and hoods and windows and grills and even a body tub)
I have a script tub but that still needs to be restored but no more money (snif). :( :(
So i think i should sell a few thinks first.
But first things first (to get the Willys running again).
Then see what i have (and sell that )and then the script tub to restore.

For now good luck and succes with the GPW and speak to you again in the near future.
best regards René

Here are we again. My photocamera saga continues. I finnaly found it and the next thing i did was drop it on the ground   . So that one is gone. So i tried my old camera and after 6 photo's the new batteries were exhausted  . So the final solution is to spend some money and buy a new one, and that is what i did. So now its time for a small update including pictures :D .

First thing to do is to clean my working space moving some stuff to another storingspace (basement). After that i disassembled my trailer and moved that partly to the basement. Also the engine is now in the basement. After that i could finally continue with the jeep. I took of the wheels, shockabsorbers, main brake cylinder, pedal assembly and today i took off the front bumper and the front axle assembly, and started with the rear one. As promissed some pictures.

With the camera i dropped:

With the 'old' camera:

I'm not doing it all alone, sometimes my good friend Jos comes to help me.

And with my new camera:

Nice F-mark!

End of update

I have decided what livery i wanna make of my jeep.

Tonight i bought my first part for the jeep after i bought the jeep itself. Can you guess what kind of jeep ii's going to be?

Some of you would have guessed it right. Its going to be a british airborne jeep, like the ones used during operation Market Garden near Arnhem. The frontbumper is a verry nice repro of the real thing.

Hi from England!
My GPW is 47496, DOD 13 July 1942.
Not too far before yours!
Did you get the jeep from Tim in Derbyshire? I have visited him but didn't buy anything in the end! Seems like a decent bloke.
Don't worry about missing bits too much....mine had lots and lots of missing bits, but you pick them up along the way! (can cost a bit though!)
Good luck with the project!
Jon. :D

Hi Jon,

Yes that should be the guy who sold me the Jeep, he is a decent bloke. Only the way up to his place was a bit troubling, luckly he took the trailer with jeep down to the bottom of the hill sothat we didn't had to do that :D

Thanks for the support! I will get there eventually and keep you posted in the mean time 8) .

Warm greetings from Holland

I think you're already familiar with Menno Keizer in Stadskanaal (Autoschade Keizer)

he's specialized in MB chassis straitening and tub restoration

HI Gideon,

Don't know if you have found someone to repair your steering wheel yet, but I have just noticed an advert in the back of Classic Military Vehicle magazine here in the UK. It is http://www.steeringwheelrestoration.co.uk. It says they can fix all types so might be worth a look.

Regards
Steve

Hi Gideon,

Nice project! I know more jeep owners in the Hague if you are in need of something.
I can help you with some original split rims if you are interressed.
Let me know.

Regards Bas
