I personally like this keeps with his character, not with a perfect paint. Used, with his defects or with marks that tells its history.
So in my opinion not perfect is perfect
Good job
Thanks,
I don't mind small dents, but will not let any rust pitting remain !!
It takes a little more work, but over the years the elements cause rust or pitting, so I repair it all.
The pitting act as basins for water and dirt, and can quickly start the rusting process again over time.
Making a little progress every day !
Today I sanded a lot more on the fender, and then primed it again to identify further areas that need a little more work.
It came out pretty good, these areas I will sand back again tomorrow, they were high points in the steel, that I lightened with the rotary tool, to blend them in with the flat surfaces.
I will then add a tiny bit of filler on them and a couple pits that were missed originally, and sand them smooth.
Overall, it is going real well,
just takes time and effort to restore and repair the imperfections with tapping, sanding, filling, sanding again.
But the pesky pits will be eliminated, and also the weld repairs have been blended in very nicely , all the while retaining the the original spot welds.
It is coming together and should be done in a couple days with fresh olive drab !!
Best Regards,
Ray
