Hey - thats all looking really good Boyso well done ! - you have taken a photo on an area of my jeep I am looking into at the moment and thats the circuit breakers and bracket. I have just found some new old stock items that are winging their way to me now.
Do you have wheels sorted out yet?

Glad to have good news about Potshot!
Do not forget to trickle charge your nice Willard battery to prevent sulfation if there is electrolyte in the battery.
I did that with my battery during the years of the restauration, and the engine started easily.
I agree, I should have removed the electrolyte… as it took more time than expected … 10 years

Keep up the great work, it is worth it in the end.
FYI, the taillight grommets were gone by 1944. If you like them, it is your jeep, just wanted to make sure you knew.
Cheers,
Peter

Re: 1944 Ford GPW-231738 - "Potshot"
Oh I didn't know, I'l lremove them !
@YLG80, the battery is just an empty housing for now I bought a cheapo 30$ 6V battery to test out the horn and the lights down the road but yeah I'll only buy an Optima for it when its ready to start!
Going to the cabin this weekend, looking forward to installing the ground straps
Still haven't bought the combat rims for it, I'm waiting to see if a distributor shows up for the Joe's motor Pool rims.
I've been considering buying the cheapest steelies that would fit with the cheapest chinese tires just to wheel it around, still mulling over it !

Boyso,
I may be a bit late to the party here. I noticed your photo of the fuel filter, if you haven't already done it, you need the 2 bushings and the fuel reducing fitting where you have put your fuel lines. Keep up the great work.

You're right, on the inlet that's an inverted flare going into a tapered pipe thread and will leak (suck air).jeepfinger wrote: ↑Sun Dec 04, 2022 1:35 pmBoyso,
