Post by Jean Georges » Fri Mar 04, 2022 4:45 am

Hello All

I had followed different thread on the subject on G 503 but did not
see this kind of gpw pintle and do not know if either a repro or genuine
and which year of production should be related
Thanks

Does not look anything like an accepted original, recently painted and repaired? or repo?

Hello Jean
That casting number is certainly the stock number as listed for the pintle under group 1502. I have to say it is the first one I have seen. All originals I have ever seen on gpws have the familiar Script f cast into it. So unsure to say just who manufactured yours.

Hey Ernie
Yes indeed a small ford can be quite faint too. Interesting to hear yours is on the same side as the large script f. The ones I have seen/owned have been on opposite sides. Be interesting to see what others post, as to what they have.

I wonder if this could be a European post war part? Many forged parts have been found with a GPW part number but we’re not made by Ford. It’s almost as if a European country I.e post war Germany, used a GPW parts list as their reference guide.
Ford GPW 6008, in slow process of restoration.
