Wondering about the block ??
From the video, the serial #, stamped on, was sort of shown, behind the oil filler tube. GPW something. Probably the number posted. That does not make it a Ford block.
If it is a Ford block, the casting # is cast into the block, above the oil pan, below the generator (alt.) and would be GPW (something). 5029 comes to mind but not positive. It is out in the cold shop and I am in the warm house. :D
Also, behind the casting number, center of the block, just above the oil pan gasket, is a large script F, cast into the block. Not raised. Looks like it was scribbled in.
I have one of these in the shop now I am rebuilding for a friend.

Dont you just love videos, need still shots of the numbers, area under dist an at the top where stuff cracks, wonder why head is painted, was it off to do so? Would have to see it in person and look it over good, isnt air tube bracket on backwards? Well it runs, a shot of the oil would be nice too, dont need a milk shake.

Maybe this should be moved to the auction area.

The video is in full HD 1080 :)!
I would not be too choosy with that engine. That engine seems to be in good shape.
It's indeed a Ford GPW engine, with a GPW head.
Could be an overhauled or stationary engine? March 1943 ?

Too me, the head is most probably a GPW head.

I would propose a good CJ-2a engine as a swap.
But not from Europe....

It was raining during the video shooting, and you can see water around #4 spark plug :D
The OP wanted to know the value of such an engine.
It's not for sale because he wants to keep his jeep in a running state.

Ok I'm still here. The engine is still running. I am from northern California, not Nigeria. I started this thread because I wanted to know what the engine was worth. Per your requests I will try to get more photos and numbers. It is a GPW head.

Stamping: GPW-102940

Casting: GPW-6015

This engine has a fairly major rear main leak and it burns a decent amount of oil. I'll update you all on oil pressure.

YLG80 hit it spot on. Planning to keep GPW engine in my jeep until I get the engine I'm rebuilding running. I still would like to know the value of this engine. It was not raining during the video, I had just washed the jeep including under the hood.

For the future, is there a website where I can auction a single item without too steep of a buyer/seller premium?

On a side note, I have a windshield off of my 2a that is not for a 2a. I believe it is from a M38 and it is missing the center cover thingy. It kinda goes without saying, but I am on the lookout for a Cj2a windshield.

To clarify, I did not just get it going from being in storage. I bought it from a friend that used it. I have put 400 miles on it in the last year. Very reliable. Almost more reliable than my 2005 F150.

When you are ready to part with the GPW motor, list it on this site(G503), under the auction section.
