I just returned from the shops in GPW7588 and noticed something while taking something from the glovebox I never noticed before even though I have the jeep since 2007. I discovered there is a receptacle in the glovebox hinge for holding something. Take a look at the photo. I ask anyone with a jeep from the first Ford contract to check theirs for same. GPW 7588 is a Chester PA jeep.
Do any of you have this fold in the hinge stamping? What is it for, the ignition key, a tool, spate rotar?
Any ideas?

You will find a curved piece of flat spring steel which clips into the door and the hinge area. Looks like a C from the side.
Seeing web search I may need one, Ron likely sells them as well. one could get creative in their own shop as well.
