Hello,
Just recently purchased a 42 GPW, date of delivery is 3/5/42. Plate number is GPW 2763, I'm in the process of cleaning the chassis to find the number, all I can see so far is the star, and GPW. Trying to find any information on possible hood numbers, and the plant location it was built in. Thanks for any Information.
Thank You,
Brandon

I think you’ll need a good photo of the frame number for Tom W or someone else to ID the factory. And from that you’ll be likely to find a close hood number but as there’s no correlation of frame V ord number then it’s a case of best guesstimate.
Ford GPW 6008, in slow process of restoration.

Hello Brandon,
Welcome to the G 503 !!!
You do have an early Ford GPW
Yes please post a picture of your data plate and jeep if you can.
The Ford Jeep Plant info should be pretty easy to determine from the data plate on your glove box door.
If you have a "4x4" stamped on the data plate, it was built in Dallas, Texas at the Ford factory there.
If you have a 1/4 T stamped on it, it was built in Louisville, Kentucky
That would be cool since your are in Kentucky !!
If you have a date stamp where there is only a month and year stamped, that is the Richmond, California Ford factory.
If you have "smaller" number fonts for the info stamped there, it was made at the Dearborn, Michigan Ford Plant.
If you have "bigger" fonts that stamped the serial numbers, that was the Chester, Pennsylvania Ford factory.
There was one more plant at Edgewater, New Jersey, that as far as we know no data plate info has been discovered yet, let alone a jeep from there as far as "we" on the G503 know.
