Early 42 GPW in Hawaii

Check out USS Hush Hush in Google. This was the jeep assigned to Admiral Nimitz at the start of the war. Based on pics it appears to be an early GPW (with Willys style frame) and the Registration number is in the block of numbers assigned to early first contract GPWs. It is painted grey and has combat rims but no NDT tires. Also painted black on hood above number is USA not USN. Wonder if it is in his museum down in Texas now or if someone in Hawaii now owns this jeep.
