Font matches up with what I have, looks like they dropped the star symbols when they went to 4 digits. what is the date code on the engine and oil pan rail if you have access to it.

Hi Adam,
I will have to get back to you on the date code. Just picked it up today and need to get it on a stand.

Hi all, Wilson Block GPW 4701 is home safely.
Just wanted to confirm that is should have a GPW head and all other parts should be GPW internal and external. Water pump?
Was Ford using their own generators at this point or an Autolite?
Any other early variation parts I should be aware of? Early dip stick. Various castings on head? Bolts or studs?
Assuming early GPW manifolds with no ports. Pictures to follow.
Thanx.

I have a couple 2000xx still has stars, it would be interesting to narrow down when they were dropped completely

Steve,
This will go into 4120. Unless I find a closer one.
Looking for an early Ford dip stick and tube if anyone has one to part with.

According to this picture machine date is 10-28-41. That's 5 days after casting date. Makes sense.
