GPW 260
Cant find the old posts on this gal, anyway finally found a engine to put in her. Originally was going to do a full restoration, kinda changing direction now, going to go for that unrestored, right out of battle look. Frame will be restored and distressed, right now no body. Tranny and t case have been assembled. Engine was the hold up. Finally found one pretty close, although twice the serial number away. Its was in a genset. Working on converting it back to jeep configuration.

Re: GPW 260
Engine is out of the genset and on the floor. Intake is for a genset, carb is for a genset, both gotta go. Fuel pump most likely needs a rebuild to get rid of the old internals that dont like todays gas. PO welded a pipe fitting on the oil pan so that needs to go to. Once this stuff is off, i will pull the flywheel and put her on the engine stand.

I would leave the horse shoe on the grill. Looks cool. Bad luck to take it off !

Very cool and I like the preservation approach. I did the same thing with my MB. Please keep posting more pics!

Re: GPW 260
Whole mess of parts that wont be going back on this engine, flywheel is off, PO had the bolt holes recessed, probably to get rid of the wear from lock washers, these are starting to wear too. Has a F on the back.

Re: GPW 260
pulled the oil pan today, got a lot of numbers. Head is way out of date. Block cast 11-26, maybe 28, machined 12-1-41 .
