VEP motors
So I was talking with Adam today about motors.
Nice to meet you in person Adam.
He mentioned that the early VEP motors were made by Wilson with a GPW number stamp.
When did this end?
Should I be looking for a ford or Wilson block for GPW 4120?

Re: VEP motors
yes, your vep would have a willys block with ford internals. only difference is stamp on pad for block. a real ford block is wrong.

Here’s an early Ford cast block, GPW2263. I know of another early block, GPW2273, and it’s a Wilson block.

Yes, Wilson blocks were used sporadically in GPW through 1943. I have a Dec ‘43 Wilson block that was installed in a GPW in Jan ‘44...judging by SN. Yes, it’s a factory GPW installed motor. GPW-174593
