COMMENTS NEEDED: what needs to be replaced-OR removed as non-original?
GPW 106577
This is the recent recovery - was able to drive it on the trailer to take it home- no title, no data plates., but a good running with original fast starting original , motor. Would appreciate comments on what is non-originals and need stop be removed or replaced and what major parts, components or items need to be replaced with original or repro. The fuel tank is obvious and the hole they cut I the left side to fill it will be welded up and patched….what else?

Posting pictures is not one of my acquired talents, but someone else can jump in.
There is a published graph for MBs and GPWs that show by month and year, what modifications were made and when.
Runs from late 1941 to the end of WWII.
May have seen it in AAW.

WOW. Faster to tell you what you have than what you'll need. Looks like you have a tub, frame and engine. (and they ALL need a ton of work) After that. You don't have it and will need it.

It doesn’t look like it has less than most project jeeps I’ve seen. Looks pretty straight and solid including the front frame horns especially. A lot of holes and seems have been filled so hopefully there arnt too many surprises after stripping the body tub. Seats, wheels, spare tire carrier, rear hitch, front Amber marker lights, heater and bumper will need replaced for starters. look at the great restoration threads on this site to get a good idea of what to expect and what is correct. Enjoy the project. Should make a nice Jeep!

Thanks Boyso. Appreciate the help.
I will look into it, John. I think first I need something to take a picture.
