Looking to purchase the early draft tube that vents downward

I don’t believe an April 1942 GPW came with the MA and early MB style long down draft tube, rather the more common short down draft tube. Since you have a GPW, you need an “F” marked one.

Brian, GPW’s used the short down draft tube until the introduction of the PCV system in February 1943. I believe the Ford records indicate the exact approval date of this change was February 10, 1943. Existing stocks of the short downdraft tubes, non ported intake manifolds and non vented crossover tubes were to be exhausted first.
