I would have saved myself days of work if my tubs had been that nice. Keep the original and keep us posted.

Ok so if I restore it I would need new quarter panels because at some point someone cut and welded in scab pieces and they look like Crimp One Off plus they drilled about 50 holes per side that shouldnt be there, also in my opinion the rear panel is roached because of the amount of holes and old fix it welds that are on it. So if I replace the side panels and the rear panel with a joes motor pool and put a new rear floor in it would you guys hate me?

An imperfect original panel is worth more to me than a repro look alike panel that’s brand new, the original panels can be ground down, smoothed, hammered out and patched and you will feel better 5 years later knowing she is original.
Trust me, I know and am glad I didn’t listen to the body shop guy. If I had all the sides and rear panels plus front floor would have been md Juan wonders. They are not and it’s been 20 years later and still glad I saved the original panels on my 45. And I started with a tub much worse than yours. I would have LOVED to have had yours to start with. Something to think about.

That body tub is in far better shape than what many people start with! I recently had a tub restored that was in much worse shape. Please, restore this tub. If you need to replace some sheet metal panels here anf there that’s OK....and Joe’s Motor Pool replacement panels are the best you can buy! They fit very well.

Without a doubt restore it, I have a 42 ford script I restored and I saved as much of the original tub as I could and I’m glad I did, those early ones are rare, save as much original as you can
