If you could post a photo of your nomenclature tag and frame serial number stamping Tom may be able to assist you on that.

Unless you find service related marking under the layers of paint on your front bumper, rear bumperetts or on the tub then it’s nearly impossible to to know much of it’s post-factory history.

...also inspect the left side of the motor for any rebuild tag facility as well as the T-84 and the T/C...remember your jeep should have a T-84 with a RIGHT side fill/drain plug. These may be clues to when and where any repairs were done which would lead to the history somewhat.

I had GPW 12102 which was missing the data plates. Did find hood number though It was 2066889. Jeep was a total rust bucket so I stripped it for parts. Kept the seriaql number off the frame. Between the W in GPW and the first number is the double headed arrow.

12078 was built in Dallas. Being so close, I’d find it hard to fathom yours wasn’t. Probably same day.

Hey Harve, How long have u had 21282? When u bought it was it painted blue? Is the data tag still on glove box? If so look at the bottom of data plate and let me know what TM number they give for the repair manual and the parts manual? Was your gpw made in early May of 42? Best wishes; Leo

harve…. information concerning missing data plate details which include which factory it was made in and on what day have ended on g503 due to Tom being banned for what may be an eternity.

Sadly for the gee membership, Tom, Luc, Joe Friday and others....all knowledgeable, helpful experts are banned or quit voluntarily over the petty, partisan way things go now....the bully pulpit is OK, the reminiscing is OK and the appearance of an "EXPERT" on the scene that isn't sucks, doesn't it?

Tom has a Facebook account you can get in touch with him on for the information he used to supply here on the gee.
