Any plumbing supply, they are a 1/4" Slotted Pipe Plug, if you choose brass, the Weatherhead Part No is 3150X4.

Thanks Ben, I will try my luck. Most things are metric. Do you know what thread it is? Thanks

1/4" NPT (National Pipe Thread) is the thread pattern. Pipe threads are tapered. Do a Web Search "National Pipe Thread" .

Jag, Australia will be full of imperial hardware. Admittedly, they have changed to accept metric as a standard but there are still plenty of imperial products still in use that need replacements. Try a road transport spares supplier or two. Also, plumbing supplies should still have NPT plugs.

Folks thanks for the advice. We do have some specialist stores who handle imperial. Last time I tried to get some small bolts suitable for attaching the rear view mirror arms to the body. They had imperial but could not match the exact size or thread pattern. I will try some others just out of interest for the tapered slotted bolts. Ben re the brass ones, are they the type that have a bolt head and screw in from the bottom?

These are Slotted Pipe Plugs, they are not bolts , they have the 1/4" Pipe Thread and screw un from the topside. The Drain holes are threaded for the 1/4" Pipe Thread, just like the MB/GPW Fuel Tank Drain Plug. Just PM me your address and I will send you two in less time than it takes to discuss it.

Not all who read this are mechanics, I'm one of 'em who isn't....

FYI...1/4 in. Pipe is no where near what a 1/4-NF or 1/4-NC bolt is....in the case of that latter, they are actually about 1/4" in diameter....or about the size of a pencil.

If you check out a floor drain, you can almost fit the end of your pinky finger into the hole...which seems to be about 1/2" in diameter.

Slotted plugs mean just that; they have slotted heads for a slot-headed screwdriver. Square-headed plugs have....square heads and can be found in several locations on your jeep....and the SNL mentions them both ways. Does this mean that square headed plugs were NOT used at some point in time during WWII on factory jeeps? When you have evidence that substantiates this, then you can used them...until then go with the ones in the books:
PLUG, pipe, slotted, 1/4 in. (floor drain)

Now...did they only use brass or were they bronze or were they steel? Were they changed over time? Willys vs. Ford or Early vs. Late? I can't tell you about that, but when I find an original Ford Script tub with them still installed....I will be very interested in seeing what they are!

I'm going to find something like these:

There is a rule of thumb when dealing with pipe threads 1 1/2" in diameter and less. The Diameter of the thread less 1/4" + the pipe thread size. The Jeep floor plugs are 1/2" in diameter, subtract 1/4" and you get 1/4" pipe.
There are two sets enroute to those who have requested the plugs that I have offered.

Hi Gary,
I don't find the screen photo clean enough to see. The slotted plugs seem to sit much higher when the jeeps were new than they do now in anoriginal tub. I guess rust has made the threaded holes a little bigger.

Gary, if you have a closer look at that photo you will see there is no plug in the floor drain hole...

This life pic of a mid to late 42 MB shows a domed slotted plug in the floor drain hole.
It sits proud of the floor as Al has suggested... The domed brass slotted plugs I have also sit proud
of the floor in my 44 Gpw tub that has its original floor drains in rust free and excellent condition.
It is mentioned in the early Willys TM that the floor drain plugs are slotted BRASS.
