Looking for a VEP GPW project

Post by Duececoupe » Thu Jan 06, 2022 6:05 pm

I might be jumping the gun here but thinking about selling one of my Model A Fords and finding a early GPW project with a Willys style frame.
Years ago I had a very rust GPW 2171 but with growing kids had to sell her always regretted it. Id be happy starting with a frame and Correct #
Thanks Ed

Hi,

Having a WWII jeep is fun, so I don't think you're jumping the gun to consider getting another. :)

You might want to specify if you want one with a matching engine or not. You're probably already aware, but the GPW's had matching numbers on the frame, dateplate on the glovebox door, and on the engine block. It's tough to find a jeep with all three still matching. Most GPW's will tick two of the three boxes (frame and dataplate on tub), but will have had the original engine replaced at some point.

Welcome to the 'Gee'!

How complete? how nice? are you looking for rusty hulk all apart. or complete jeep just needing rebuild.

Well hopefully find one with a frame and data plate. I know parts are hard to find but at least something to work with. A finished one would be way out of my league
Thanks

I think I have just what you are looking for!!

42 GPW 1999

Very complete
Very original
Very rusty

All matching numbers on Willys frame
Many hard to find original parts: air filter, Ford tire, combat rims, gauges, keyed ignition( found key hanging under dash 20 years after I bought it!)
Owned over 40 years.
In my opinion, best left as-is as a conversation piece.
Essentially as parked after the war.

Good evening,

I just saw a few pictures. May I ask you what the price is for your jeep?

Please let me know.

All the best,

Rudi from Holland

I prefer not to export, but thanks for the interest. For one thing, the Jeep is sold on a bill of sale. No title.

I’m getting offers around $15 but shipping is the issue. Nobody close to Atlanta!
