Camp Plymouth Swap Meet & Military Vehicle Display Presented by MD JUAN, April 16-21, 2019 California

Details about the new venue replacing the Camp Petaluma, Camp Delta, and prior Spring swap meets are on the Events forum. This very nice RV campground and the adjacent Amador County Fairgrounds in Plymouth, CA solve the problems we had with Petaluma KOA, primarily the lack of onsite visitor/commuter parking during the Spring, and the admission fee the manager decided to charge. Here is the event link:

Note there are no offsite MV runs planned for Friday, when we have the two showcases: Jeeps - WWII, Korea, Vietnam, CJ pre-1987, and Ford GTB Trucks & Chevy M6 Bomb Service Trucks plus trailers and related hardware. Any condition welcome! Be a part of record West Coast display turnouts and magazine articles.

If any North Bay MV drivers want to organize convoys on certain days, I will help advertise that in other places. You might pick up some people along the way. Just tell me the point-of-contact and details, or post when you plan to depart here and maybe others will rendezvous with you.

The quickest way to Plymouth from the North Bay is I-80 to I-50, and from Sacramento take Hwy 16 about 35 miles to 49. Plymouth is just north. It's an easy, scenic MV drive with the 1,000 elevation change easy to deal with due to gentle ups and downs that allow gaining speed lost. For less freeway, take 12 east to Rio VIsta and go 160 or 12 to different roads that go to Plymouth.

If you have read the event post on the Events forum you know there will be a new-in-the-crate MD Juan reproduction early 1942 GPW Maxi-Kit raffled on Friday evening after the dinner. It will be a separate raffle from the annual one. The event promoters have been given this kit in trade for marketing benefits before, during, and after the meet. Proceeds will pay for event advertising, the Jeep Showcase cash prizes for the People's Choice contest, and other things.

There is a thread about the jeep kit raffle over on the WWII jeeps for sale forum. I just added a lot of photos plus important info to the original post. Here is the link:

We would like to give a special shout-out to North Bayer Jay Hinton from Jay's WWII Jeeps for being a sponsor of the commemorative Camp Plymouth T-shirts. We have had some very high quality artwork professionally created in the past few years for these shirts. Real "car show" quality art. But this comes at a cost. Jay, who will be a vendor in RV space 185 just past the office, donated money towards that to help make this happen. We might might not have enough shirts for the demand, so if NBMVC forum readers want to buy the official shirt at the inaugural Plymouth venue, stop by the MVCC Quartermaster on Thursday just past the office. If you went to the 2016 MVPA Convention in Pleasanton you might have picked up the shopping bag sponsored by Jay. My wife and I will be bringing ours to Plymouth!

Unfortunately the jeep kit was hung up in customs in Oakland and sent back to MD Juan for reasons we do not know. There will be no jeep kit raffle.

There will, however, be the annual fundraising raffle Friday evening during and after the dinner at the Clubhouse. We welcome donations of items for men, women, and children. Bring them to the event headquarters and quartermaster booth just past the 49er RV Village office. Don't forget your business card or paper with your name on it so you can be recognized.
