The annual Camp Delta Fall Meet is returning to Tower Park Resort, 14900 W. Hwy 12, Lodi, CA. This is six miles west of Interstate 5 at a large RV park and boating center on a river in the California Delta. It's camping oriented with hotels six miles away. This has always been the second largest, annual event for historic MVs in the Western US, only behind the annual April meets in this area.
For those who have never been, the big days are Wednesday - Saturday. Sunday is a pull out day. Some show up early in the week to watch the buildup and to snag bargains for sale. Anyone can put out sales goods but it has to be at a paid campsite or cabin. No vending otherwise (there is no space in our area). All obsolete ex-military vehicles are invited in any condition, from any nation's service. No judging.
No admission fee or day-visitor/commuter parking fee. Visitors park along the shady, levee road right next to the campground.
Go to the Military Vehicle Collectors of California web page www.MVCCNews.net for other info including activities and a campground map with notes. There is also club contact info, an event calendar, and a photo gallery of past events.
Last year we moved the Fall meet from Campground 4 (where the pools and Pavilion building are), to Campground 2/3 next to the levee, marina, restaurant, store. This got us away from the families wanting to use the play structures and water features. A new water park has been built this year. It was very nice in the new location and we will be focused there again. Little dust, lots of shade, protection from the wind, nearly all MV event people in our area.
Although the time when sites can be reserved at our discount has lapsed, discounts can still be had. Go directly to the Jellystone Park camping reservation system at www.towerparkresort.com or call 209-369-1041. On the reservation page look below the spot where you select your dates. You will see "Package Deals." These are is savings off of regular rates. Then plug in what type of site or cabin you want. As of this writing there are some cabins available in Campground 2 plus a couple campsites. If there are any cancellations the sites will pop back into the system, so keep looking. There are also RV sites in the newly renovated Campground 1, and in the Campground 4 entrance area near our main area. Remember, all are at normal rates unless you get a "Package Deal."
