Camp Plymouth SPRING Military Vehicle Show & Swap Meet April 19-23*, 2023

Post by John Neuenburg » Sat Jan 07, 2023 5:17 pm

The big annual Spring meet is returning to Plymouth, CA this April. All details are on the promoter's website (MVCC) on the events calendar tab.
Here is a link:
www.MVCCNews.net

* It runs through Saturday. Sunday is a pull-out day, not a good show day.

You will see a Basic Training document, the Daily Briefing, the official flyer, flyers for the three themed MV showcases, RV/travel trailer rental ideas and a discount, a new golf cart rental program, and a campsite reservation form. If you have items to sell there is no vendor fee but all sellers must rent a campsite at the RV Village or the fairgrounds tent village, whether or not you are sleeping there.

There is info on the MVCC forum here on the G and probably that is where people will chat about the event. Link is here:

Here is an updated event flyer. The ending date has been edited to better describe the event ends late Saturday. Sunday is a pull-out day, not a show day.

There will be some new info on the Daily Briefing document on www.MVCCNews.net on the Events tab probably this week.

We are one week out from the official start day of Camp Plymouth. When you go to www.MVCCNews.net to see all the info on the event page, you will note on the Daily Briefing that the Early Bird Potluck Dinner is back on the schedule as a shared-food event on Tuesday evening. Location will be on the patio behind the 49er Village cafe and clubhouse. Rain location is likely in the clubhouse. The women's social is also back to a shared finger food (or whatever) theme. Check out the Daily Briefing, lots on the schedule!

If you have not booked a site at the 49er and have a RV, travel trailer, pop up trailer, or pickup camper, there are sites available. Our group discount there is not available anymore - we always give unreserved sites back to the 49er in March. So you have to go through the 49er Village reservation system. Prices are their normal prices, but you might say you are "with the MVCC" and ask if they will give the event discounted rate. No promises but they might, especially with the event so close. In any case the 49er is cheaper than a hotel! Do a search online for their web page. You can see available sites by location on their campground map. Their direct phone number is 209-245-6981. It might roll over to their corporate reservation representative. If so, I'd try it later and hope a Plymouth rep picks up, if you want to try negotiating.

Note on the MVCC website we have a 20% discount on RV and travel trailer rentals. Advantage Caravans in Sacramento will deliver, set up, and pick up a trailer to your site number for a reasonable fee. That's what wife and I are doing again. This is a good option for those who don't or won't tent or truck camp. Unfortunately the 49er does not allow tent camping at their place.

I believe there are still sites available at our tent campground at the adjacent fairgrounds. Dry camping, bring your own shade. Inexpensive. Use the camping form on our website and email to JoAnn Lesser ASAP with your full payment via snail mail made out to MVCC. She and Kurt normally head up there on Sunday. If your check won't get to San Jose by Saturday the 15th, call or email her to ask if you can show up and pay there.

For those who have never been to these meets, the swap meet and MVs are throughout both sides of this venue. No seller fee, just rent a campsite. No admission fee either. If you have a WW2 jeep, military Dodge, or military motorcycle, scooter, or bicycle, please bring it and show it off in one of those showcases Friday.
