Hello Todd & Bruce,

That is one real nice BRC. Great job.

Did Jim do the work himself?

Oh, yours is great too Steve

Hi Michael!!!!! Reread my post.........the last BRC40 ( in my opinion) that Ken Hake will do..........no, Jim did not do it... but he is in love with it... been looking for one for thirty years...............he has probably twenty Bantam civilian cars...........puts them up on his mezzanine in his warehouse with a fork lift!!!....... worth the trip to watch him stack cars with a forklift.......

One more number for the list perhaps..... I found a copy of the December, 1992 issue of Four Wheeler magazine tonight. Included is an article on the restored BRC-40 owned by Bill King and Harold Bollenbacher of South Lake Tahoe, CA. A reasonably clear photo of the data plate shows the serial number as 1211 (possibly 1241, but looks more like 1211. The USA number is only partially visible, with 20160__ clear enough to read.

It has a corrugated floor with a nice clear photo from the bottom rear. The jeep was apparently found by Joe Hudak and sold to Harold and Bill. The floor was specifically mentioned as being a Ken Hake reproduction so I'm not sure if it was one of the 4 shown in Randy's photo in the corregated floor thread or yet another to add to the list.

I think it was sold again some years ago but does anybody know its current owner or location. Or perhaps a verification of the serial number or USA number.

Rick, you know one of them passed away several years ago, I think it was Harold Bollenbacher........ the other one ( I think Bill King) lives in Reno, I know this because Ken Hake spent a week with him and his new wife in Reno, Neveada about two months ago for the "air show"? "air races"? or something to do with airplanes..... again, slight chance I have the names backwards.... either of these guys VERY helpful and glad to talk Jeep restoration! both were/are class guys..... used to JUDGE prototypes at all MVPA shows....

Todd,

My BRC-40 (#2124) is in Covington, Louisiana rather than Florida.
Let me know if you need any further info.

Are any Round-nosed BRC-60's known to exist? I just stumbled across a picture of one on the web http://www.olive-drab.com/od_mvg_www_jeeps_bantam.php3" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; near where I used to go jeeping. I wonder if it's still around?

There is a BRC 40 in Indianapolis In. I sold it to a fellow in 2004. It was frame, running gear, steering, hood, grill and body. No engine but did have trans and transfer. The guy has a body shop and was going to restore it with the other two vehicles. don't remember his name but he had blond hair if that helps.
