GP Shocks

Gathering up the shocks, I have 5 here someplace, Apple hyd wants $350 each.

Contact in ct wants 170. anybody have any rebuilt laetly?

2 questions, where would i punch or drill a hole to try to put oil in rear gpw shocks? And how do I ask a question or start a new topic on this fourm? Thanks, Doug

Go to the main page of this forum,,click on new topic. Why drill a hole, the GP shocks have plugs, if you mean GPW shocks, go to the main page which lists all the forums and ask in the mb gpw tec forum. You do not just add oil to gpw shocks, only some of the ww2 ones are rebuildable.

Thanks Adam, this forum is all new to me, I will try to find the main page. The shocks are for a gpw and not rebuildable but i will try anything, Doug

2 are rebuildable and getting worked on,, one with a loose arm was not repairable, $160 each plus postage, when i get them back we will see.

Came 2 weeks ago,, just getting bck to them. Have not checked their clocking, we willc when ti check them on the frame.

Will send out 2 more, 1 bad one came back,, center shaft is worn, maybe lid too,, Its good arm went on one of the above, so now have 1 rusty arm with no number onit.

Adam do you have a nice spare F-898 arm you’d part with? I have one that’s pitted badly and would like to replace it.

Only spare i have is rusted away like the bottom one, may need it anyway as the 2nd one down in the picture has the link hole worn out, wonder if that can be welded up and re machined.

Other ones are on the way to the shop, so unless one of them is beat i wont have one,

Are the front and rear shocks interchangeable or front/rear specific?

lf and rr are the same and rf and lr. Info is limited in print from what i can see, have not looked to see what the parts book says, think the oil fill needs to be on the top?? ish area.
