Re: Question
There maybe others that have more knowledge but,
Series 1, single central mounted hood block, chassis number on right frame, flat curved front seat backs and BO/rear lights louvred type.
Series 2, has two hood blocks, chassis number on left frame, ribbed front seat backs and BO/rear lights standard (MB/GPW/WC5* etc.
Also look at the GP database will give info on chassis numbers.

Re: Question
The routing of the front brake lines is different between series one and series two. The front banjo fittings are angled out on a series two and straight on a series one. (I believe)

Re: Question
The rivets that hold the clamps on the bonnet have a waffle top on 2nd series. smooth on 1st.
Bent bar non directional tyres on 1st series and perhaps a 2nd series overlap? Think those are Firestone. Very early production used 550x16 tyres. No idea how many.
btw, the distinction between series 1 and 2 is made by collectors. Was not made during the manufacturing period by Ford or the army.
Cheers, Jacco
