Hello,
Here is a short film I saw on youtube and hadn't seen before.
It has some nice Bantams in it, early vehicles, tanks, coast artillery, etc.
Very nice to see some early pre war footage of army training.

This reminds me. What will ever come of the color Bantam footage owned by several of the ABS Bantam club guys? I have never seen it. Sean.

Thanks for the Bantam video. That was a fun watch. There was a GP in there too.

Never seen that footage either...good eye!
SoccerGo #1: Bantam pushing the Horse.
In WARBABY it is shown that that it was pretty strongly implied at the time that this stunt was staged for the press as the jeep really needed no help. Interesting in itself that what the fake news of that pre US war day wanted to portray was the conservative idea that the good old horses were needed to save the new-fangeled machine.
#2. The original film you speak of missed being consumed (with the rest of my house, shop and cars including BRC) by about four-hundred yards by a raging inferno in the current California wildfires. Hoping the wind shift tonight does not create a second pass. The film was translated..whatever the word is..to DVDs and one each to the original investors all around the world, so, the images are not in danger of destruction. Also, some of this footage is in other hands(but not the color) see BRC1940.com for the source.
We had thought by now someone would have put together a documentary by now, or a museum show where the footage could star, but, You Tube has pretty much put documentaries out of fashion. It has been suggested that a YouTube series be put together treating the creation of the jeep, into which footage like this would fit nicely of course. Seems like a lot of 503ers could add a lot of info and color to that?

I have that tape in my garage!!...I play it every Saturday while my Marine volunteers are here.
I have had it over 15 years, it is on a DVD tape, it is of WWll songs. It is a two DVD set.....think I got it at Walmart.
I have a TV and an old DVD player in the garage and as we work on the vehicles I play the DVD. It Has a lot of great songs and great film footage!
