GP Part 1150498 Screw, Top Bow Socket, Thumb: query

Post by Michael C » Sat Sep 14, 2019 6:19 pm

I have a repro body and a repro set of the thumb screws for the canopy bow.

The repro body socket thumb screw hole is threaded for 1/4 UNC.

The repro thumb screws are 5/16, UNC.

Which is the correct size & thread for a series 1 GP, please?

Thanks

Mike

I don't have the size thread handy, but did confirm the GP bow Pivot Thumbscrew is GP-1150498. I do not have access to anything else.-sorry

SNL G-658 does not indicate the size.

Hey Mike,
Thumbscrew should have plastic/rubber head and thread size 5/16" x 18 USS thread.

Thanks Brad,

Yes, the repro pair I have have rubber heads, just couldn't work out which diameter they should be.

As 5/16 USS is interchangeable with 5/16 UNC, so I'll re-bore the hole and tap with a 5/I6 UNC tap.

Regards

Mike
