Re: New Home for GP 16625
Hello.
I spent the weekend going through the parts that came with the GP and the instrument cluster jumped out at me as good starting point. What a good looking instrument cluster!
Through my research, I found that the speedo should be 0-100 and that the oil gauge is a 0-50. Is that correct? I don't have the oil, temp, amp or fuel gauges. I didn't research the fuel, temp or amp gauges yet, but if anyone knows if there are correct ones, could you please let me know? Does anyone have a good source for them because I may ask for them for Christmas? I read in one of Danny's threads that he acquired his through eBay.
Am I correct in stating that all of the needles should be white with white letters in the correct font as the one in my picture below?
The speedo seems to be in good shape. The needle moves with ease and I don't see any rust or in surface issues. I don't know if it has been restored, and Brad didn't know either.
I have two of the cluster "assemblies". One has pitting and a few of the tabs are missing, while the other is in very nice shape. I'm guessing that the pitted one is the original, because who would buy a pitted one with missing tabs to replace the nice one? Ha I'm going to move forward with the nicer one.
Thanks for reading!

Yes, very nice D.o.D. !! mine is the same! 16601.
Good luck with the restoration, should be a lot easier then when I did it, without the internet.
Grtz,
Alex

Re: New Home for GP 16625
Hi Mike, that's very unlikely, as it's in the Netherlands now! but I did buy it in PA! and still have shares in another GP in PA.
Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Mark!
The carb has been moved from the "need to have" list to the "nice to have" list.
