FRAM filter should be a PER 1/2 if I remember corruptly! They've shown up on SleezyBay but haven't seen any in quite a while. Used to be able to find them a car swap meets but that was long ago.

The GP oil filter made by Fram is a PB 1/2P also PB 1/2P2.

The GP oil filter made by Atlas is a C20.

The GP oil filter made by Purolator is a PER 1/2

The GP oil filter made by AC is a W-21

Look at this older post:

viewtopic.php?t=68136

There is an Atlas C20 on E bay that is not a terrible price
https://www.ebay.com/itm/373826319403?h ... oL&vxp=mtr

There is a Purolator PER1/2 on Ebay.... but the price and shipping will hurt.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/304300396099?h ... h1&vxp=mtr

There is a Fram on ebay..... but you really have to want it bad to pay his price and shipping.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/203693468794?h ... Swb~5hLjnL

Here is a PB 1/2P2 Fram on Ebay that is ridiculous in price but good reading on some of the paper work with it.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/353807691441?h ... Aj&vxp=mtr

And here is a company making Repo's of this type of filter.

Jeepandco: Very good. If it were my choice for a filter to use on my GP engine (Not for showing or display on the shelf) I would probably go with the repo filter as it is new and has not laid around in an unknown environment for the last 40-50 years deteriorating.
I would paint it Semi-gloss black, find a vintage looking Ford decal for it and call it good. Look at this old post by Pierino viewtopic.php?t=68136 (The black filter in the first picture.) (Look at this decal on ebay) https://www.ebay.com/itm/351253410410

Repo oil filter on Ebay....... https://www.ebay.com/itm/173602603364 ....... And as a plus they ship world wide

Stefan Schulz: Sorry i don't know much about Mann or Bosch filters as they are not real prevalent here in the USA. Other than the repo manufacturing company that i just listed above, I would be surprised if any other well known manufacturing company's are making this filter. But i am not that well versed in the world of filter manufactures.

Good day Steve. It sounds like you have a different style of filter installed on your GP. The filter that came on the GP was of the style listed here on this post and it is a single use type of filter that is meant to be thrown away in its complete form when changing the oil and or when you feel that a new filter is needed. The filter element or cartridge that is inside of the housing is not designed to be replaced and it would be difficult to open up the sheet metal housing to do so. Maybe the filter that you have is like the MB and GPW style of filters. Many types and model's of bypass filters have been made and sold as an aftermarket filter. (Frantz brand comes to mind) It would be good to see a picture of your existing filter that is on the GP now. You are more than welcome to post a picture of it here or send it to my email address that is on my profile page. Maybe we can get you a part number and or at least id the type of filter that you have.

Roger

Here is an example of a Frantz bypass filter that was very popular back in the 50's & 60's. It used a roll of toilet paper or what ever other type of filter medium that you thought was good. Other manufactures include AC, Fram, and Purolator with the Military Junior size being popular with automotive size engines.

Gentlemen,
Original Oil Filters are becoming very hard to find! And buying them over the internet can result in filters that are only good for display!! This is what I have acquired over the years that "rattled" when shaken. Be careful even when buying at flea markets or swap meets.
