Heater By-Pass Options

Post by captaincarrier » Sat Mar 28, 2020 10:08 am

Drove around St Pete Yesterday and the heat passing through the heater core is very uncomfortable this time of the year.
Was thinking of:
a) just eliminate the heater hoses and tough it out those few winter days we have
b) place a manual on-off valve in the line from the water pump
c) install a by-pass valve

Any input from those with experience of such?

The M-38A1 Hot Water Heater Kit has two 90 Degree Shutoffs for 5/8" hose. one on the head to the rear of the carburetor, and one at the waterpump. They stop the circulation.

And I thought I read that one of the jeeps had the ability to open and close these valve by cables connected inside the cab.

Not on any of the GI Hot Water Heaters the military issued for the 50's-60's M-Series Trucks.
