I have a m38A1 1952 that came out of Africa. The body is painted a tan color and the rest is p as noted green. Does anyone know what the color should be. I want to go to original.

I know they came from the factory the O.D. green color but didn't they paint it a tan color to match the desert.

There are instances where the Army painted combat vehicles color patterns indigenous to the location they were serving in.

I thought about that. I am thinking about painting it the same color but I didn't know where I can get a tan canvas top for the 52 M38a1.

There is a chance that some dealers may have access to GI Desert sand duck. Fill your piggy bank though.

Paint it tan, use the green top and with the black tires you will have 3 color desert camo.

Found out mine is a USMC m38a1 radio jeep. It has the holes in the back quarter panel for the antenna bracket and the volt meter next to the data plates I think went to the radios. Going to make it a radio jeep again.
