I've always liked the hoods on Jeep Commandos. I thought one of these would fit on my M38A1 so I gave it a try. It's a perfect fit. I'll install my blackout lights where the turn signals go in the Commando grille.

Re: M38A1 Hood Mod
If I'm not mistaken the center of the Commando grille is basically the same as the CJ-5 grille with little extension panels on it. I wonder if you could remove the "CJ" center and add in a M38-A1 grille to make it look more military?
I've often thought of putting a CJ-7 grille and hood on a Commando, (the newer, ugly ones)!

Re: M38A1 Hood Mod
You are correct. The extensions are welded onto the center.

Re: M38A1 Hood Mod
I always thought that would make a great looking vehicle. Kind of a Command Car version of the M38A1. Good luck with the mod. It will look swell.
