Speakers for CJ roll bar?!?!

Post by CJboy » Thu Mar 07, 2013 8:29 am

Hey Guys-

I put a radio in my 58 CJ5 and now need some speakers. I have the rollbar and thought getting speakers to mount on it would be cool, but since the CJ rollbars aren't like the wranglers...I can't go with a sound bar.

I was looking at these to mount on the inside on the wheel wells and am liking how they would fit and not take up much room: http://www.quadratec.com/products/14136_001X_PG.htm

but if you have any other ideas...it would help!

I reckon a pair of drive-in speaker housings would do the job nicely.

They are usually cast aluminium, and would look "period correct" unlike a modern plastic thing.

Years ago KC Hilite used to make a roll bar speaker in a set of their round offroad light housings. A search on the internet showed Pyle was the 6" speaker they used.

Pyle makes waterproof speakers.

You might look at the Marine Industry as I've seen speakers mounted facing the skier on professional ski boats.
