I did a search and could not find anything that had the total answer.

I am looking at swaping an mid 70's Mer cruiser 140 hp four cylinder into a 1952 CJ3A. The only problem is locating an intake and exhaust maniforld or header for this engine. The marine items will not work in an automobile.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Mike

I took a Mercruiser out of a wood chipper, it had a late 70's early 80's GM head on it with the corresponding carb setup. I replaced the entire engine with a 4 cylinder out of a later CJ5 or 7 , I think. Iron Duke engine. Same bell pattern but different crank snout and flywheel setup. There are a bunch of different heads you can use with either crossflow or same side intake and exhaust, it was a little confusing to me so when a complete engine showed up I jumped on it.

There are several versions of that engine out there over a very long lifespan. The Chevy Iron Duke was the early 62 Chevy II 4 banger 153 CI. The later 2.5's are based on it somewhat as are the 1.8's.
