Zamboni jeeps

Hope it's ok to post this here - found it in the Smithsonian recently. The articles indicate it was mounted on a surplus jeep, but the photo appears to show a CJ as evidenced by what looks to be a tailgate. Is anyone out there familiar with this modification?

Got to be super rare, as in nonexistent, and very cool. Not the ice.
