I just purchased a 1943 MB and trying to learn more about the MB/MZs as I believe this is one. The frame number is MB214642, engine number MB499488 and body number 2715. There are no data plates but from everything I've read so far it seems to have everything to confirm it is an MZ. The only markings I can make out is "COMN" and what appears to be the letter "O" in yellow on the back of the driver's side. There are some very faint bits of yellow on the hood but unfortunately, not enough is left to make out the specific number. I'm new to this forum but want to learn as much as I can do restore this jeep as accurately as possible. I tried attaching photos but can't get it to cooperate right now. I would appreciate any information/education anyone can give. Thanks.

Well, my edit of my original post deleted it.

Anyway, here is a second try at posting photos. Obviously, there's a lot of work to be done but I want to do it right. I would love to find a delivery date if anyone can help with that. Also, I only learned of the radio jeeps when I bought this one so forgive my ignorance but is an MB/MZ and a NOM-12 the same thing? Also, amidst the rust, you may be able to tell it is painted gray. Under that, it is green and as I said in my original post, there are remnants of yellow hood numbers but sadly, not enough to determine the number. That said, I'm guessing it was originally a Marine jeep that later got transferred to the Navy.

Hi again, Matt.

You appear to have an MB-NOM-12, with your 2715 body number.

Look here and you will see 4 other MZ radio jeeps close to yours.

If you are having trouble posting photos send them to me and I’ll past them tomorrow after I get home.
