Help with USN Bureau of Ordinance Tag?

Post by thetmaxx » Thu Apr 21, 2022 6:50 pm

It was suggested I move my post from the "Jeep History" forum to this one.

I've been working on this 45 MB for about 20 years off and on through my parents Divorce, etc. I'm hoping this time will be the final push to get it finished as it is now in my possession permanently. In all of that time I have been able to identify it as a late production '45 MB. But there is a fourth tag above the glove box that I have never been able to find another example of to know what it means. Can anyone help Identify what this USN Bureau of Ordinance Tag indicates or has anyone ever seen another one like it?

User Fred Coldwell helped me realize the "Pocatello" probably means it was stationed at the Naval Ordnance Plant in Pocatello, ID. For some reason I thought that was an example that was supposed to be stamped in the upper box, but never was. I Sure feel silly.

I found this thread: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=198270&p=1156166&hi ... o#p1156166
It looks like he has a close relative of my MB.

Any information would help, Thank you!
