USMC Air Field Guadalcanal Jeep photo

Post by AZ Jeff » Mon Nov 29, 2021 6:40 pm

Got this 8x10 (original size) copy of a Guadalcanal jeep photo from a friend who had the original. Guy on the right was tied to the film industry.

USMC Guadalcanal Air Field Jeep.jpg

Note the "TAXIWAY" markings on the windshield frame and glass, diagonal lines on the ends of the bumper and the likely USMC-type windshield height extension (or top is merely blowing up in the wind?). "123" or "423"? on the bumper. Looks like an "H" (or Roman numeral "II") on the hood.

And there is a third man sitting at the wheel, looking through the broken windshield glass with his head on his right hand :D
