Your first post is kind of an abrupt popup in this forum !
You should use the search engine and the google search engine.
You have likely bought that (MZ) jeep very recently, or you are the seller (same location).

The previous post in 2016 about that MB was published by Farrell Fox.
He decided to quit the forum after deleting all his own posts.
So you will not find any other information than the one in that post : viewtopic.php?t=268897
The, i.e your, jeep is not registered in the G503 database.

The jeep description is here and on several other websites, including Facebook.

Description
Willys MB 1943 VIN number 214545 model NOM – 12 is a real WW2 veteran. This jeep is a unique model produced in a short series of 1,512 units for the special order of Marine Corps. Most of them took part in the war in Pacific; few returned to USA. Today several dozen are registered, but they vary in condition and the resemblance to the original. These jeeps have had body alterations originally, like special waterproof electrical installations or two high-frequency radios for communication purposes.

I managed to collect some of this equipment (see pictures). I think that the continuation of reconstruction of Willys MZ is a fantastic opportunity for the history enthusiasts and a great investment. Unfortunately, for the past nearly 80 years subsequent owners of the military Willys have modified them. This is why they have some CJ2a model parts, such as gearbox, rims or rear axle, hence the adequate low price for this unique model. Clean title.
Your jeep was likely delivered to the US Army on February 24th, 1943 plus or minus a few day's.

Hello Peter,
I have got that information about your jeep. Sorry, not much more than in the post you are referring to.
It was offered for sale by a certain Larry ( no last name given ) from Georgia on G503-FB / Craigslist .
The sale was published on Aug. 5, '16.
It was mentioned:" F.S. $220 with bubba drivetrain. Very poor condition. Still has floor cast piece "

Also if your jeep is a MB-MZ NOM radio jeeps, it went straight to the Navy/USMC not via the US Army.

Cheers.

I just bought MB # 220742 D.O.D. 3-23-43 . The previous owner stated it originally was sold surplus from Brunswick Naval Air station in Maine in 1962. Does this one fall in the serial number range for the radio Jeeps ? I bought it just a few miles from Brunswick.

You need to start this as a new thread, it has nothing to do with original post.

To answer your question, no it is not a factory Navy/Marine radio jeep. The ORD stamp on the data plate makes it a US Army contract.

That being said, there is nothing preventing the Navy getting a jeep transferred during or after the war. Some of the last jeeps that were sold surplus in the late 70's were ORD contracts that were converted to Navy radio jeeps and painted grey.

The jeeps were three 1943 GPW's that came from the Philadelphia Navy Yard.

Cheers,
Peter
