"Little" acceleration for the needs of propaganda  .
I guess that the "Rosie the Riveters" were all deaf by the end of their life.

How to assemble a B-17 in 3:13 minutes.
Most interesting !!
I just finished reading the book " Lucky 666" and this movie clip, showing a B-17's structure, explains how the aircraft took the beating it did and returned with needed photos.
A true story about a group of airmen at Port Moresby in the south pacific that built a B-17 for photo missions from scrap yard parts and volunteered for a solo photo mission over Baku and Bougainville to aide the Marines in their initial landing, in WWII. No fighter escort.
Instead of bombs, the aircraft was fitted with 17, 50 caliber machine guns and two nose mounted 30 caliber guns.
The aircraft had to stay on target, in a straight line and at a set altitude for several minutes at a reduced speed, over an enemy airfield, to get the photos.
A real duck shoot for the "Zeeks" but the plane returned, although very badly shot up. Including the crew.
The beginning of the book was mostly about the pilot and bombardier's life leading up to the flight but the ending was well worth the read.
After seeing how strong a B-17 structure was, explained a lot.

:D Your welcome !
Starts off a little slow but an easy read.
About chapter 22, "666" is where it really gets good. Personnel & background build up to that point.
Enjoy !!
