Wow Dave ! That's cool
I mean, what kid wasn't all over the X15 in the late 50's ? I sure was. I was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. My dad had been in the Army Air Corps. He was into it. Was always pointing out different aircraft to me. Trips to the Air Force Museum. Way cool ! So many pilots more than willing to test fly. Still are.
I'll have to dig into finding some other vids I remember from the cockpit of the X15, but first I've gotta get crackin on replacing the shocks on my 98 GMC Ha !
Job done. Editing post. Funny how you think something is gonna be cake and turns out to be something else.
Here's a cool "modern" take on the whole X.. thing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lcLJj6i1LTs

Re: North American X-15.
My Dad was Air Force as well. He never talked about his service though no matter how hard I tried to get him to. He'd get pretty "distant" when I did, so I left it alone as I got older.
Great clip from First Man. The movie kinda reminded me of "The Right Stuff" a bit, just not as involved. I did like it though.
