Chennalt Selman Field Museum Monroe La

i thought this might be a good place to post about a museum i stumbled onto.
the museum is on the grounds of the delta airport formerly selman field in the last of its ww2 buildings.the daughter of Chennalt(flying tigers fame) is on board and the family has donated many artifacts to the museum as well as many other vets families from the area.
there are collections of ww2 radio equipment, trainers, guns, uniforms, documentation, etc that goes on and on.dont think you can walk through the place in 5 minutes-you cant and if you get lucky you will get to meet Chennalts daughter and she is sharp with airplanes as well as beautiful.
they are consistently acquiring new items and are motivated about getting it out there for display.
they even have a liberty ship radio/transmitter system that is huge.
if ever in the monroe la area look it up as its just off the 20 freeway
thanks

Thanks for the reminder, the museum is very special, especially with the General's daughter being present.

Pre 1978 and the arson fire at the San Diego Aerospace Museum, they had Chennault's A-2 Horsehide Jacket on Display. It was beautiful!

I have quite a few idioms on loan to them, one is a new in the box WW2 1911A1. It is Chennaults grand daughter that runs the place. I live in Monroe and help the museum with military vehicle displays and events. If anyone needs any details they can call the museum and talk directly with the Generals granddaughter. I’m sure she would be happy to talk about anything related . Thanks
