Kindof a sad and happy day. I've sold this project to a fellow G brother in Georgia so no more pictures to post but trading up to a new toy I've always wanted
Good luck Frank on your new project, anything I can help with let me know, my consultation services are very reasonable.....as in free.

Well did a little research, it is probably one of these that belonged to the Danish Army that went over in 1951:

Hey Tim nope I'm hanging on to the little mutt he has really grown on me. Somebody abandoned the poor little dog out here so i took him in, been mine since that first bowl of foodYou didn't trade the hound too did you? He's a good lookin' mutt.
I'll take him riding with me like that guy with the halftrack in California does. If I get a track on backwards I'll let him take the heat.
I'm not sure what is going on with that radiator cap yet. Kinda looks like the custom 'rag' type of pressure release cap.

Frank,
Please keep this post going with updated photos and commentary. The restoration can be enjoyed by us all. The nice thing about the restoration is you'll be the one getting dirty and we can sit in front of our computers with beer and popcorn to see your progress. Your plus factor is you'll have a beautiful M3A1 Scout Car in the end. Everyone wins.

Absolutely that would be great for you to continue the restoration thread. Looking forward to it it's a nice scout car. I've owned about 6 now but was only able to get one restored. It's been fun.

Nearest I can tell, I am the 4th owner since you had it. Everyone added something to the spare parts pile it seems and did a little something to it by the time I got it. Thankfully you sourced the roller! The previous owner rebuilt the Genny, fuel tanks, and sourced the radios among other things. I still have a long way to go.
With some luck and determination I am aiming to get it finished. The alternator, transmission, rear brakes, rear axle seals, and rear wheel cylinders have been done by me so far. Now working on brake lines, front brakes, fuel pump, and preparing to remove the motor to rebuild.

I think I found the windshield armor for it too. Here is my last scout car I have left. It still had the key in the glovebox and the handcrank sticking out of the front bumper.

That's a wonderful scout car! Is that one of Pauls skate rails or the original one?
