Too bad you had to make the brake push rod, just started going through the parts I got again today and I believe I have 3 of them, 2 really nice and one would work with a little sanding and thread re-tapping. Still have 3-5 gallon buckets to go. I am hoping my metal man gives me some good news on the shrouds Monday. He is going to make one copy first to see how they come out and get a price range. Getting that rolled area for the hand crank seems to be the trouble spot right now.

Hi Ron, that is great news ! Put me down for one if all works out. Those shrouds are as rare as dinosaurs. Stay safe, Rob

The scout car is looking great. Thanks for the photos. As you have found out a good steering wheel is hard to locate.
I see in the background of one of your photos that you have what is presumably the original green Sheller wheel with some cracks in it.Some years ago I repaired one which seemed to be in worse condition than yours so make sure that you don't throw it out.
It should be recoverable.
Keep up the updates.
Thanks
Philip

Thanks for the kind words Phillip!
I did not throw out the original green wheel.
I’m starting on fitting the new wiring harness and restoring the firewall before the engine goes back in. Figuring out where everything goes is a puzzle because when I bought it, it was all torn apart.

Sometimes i feel like I will never get it finished. I started the dash and firewall wiring weeks ago and since i bought the car dissassembled with a pile of parts, its been a puzzle to put back together.

The bump stops on the front axle under the chassis rail, where did you get them from?

The motor came back from the machine shop and, with the help of a good friend, we got the motor back in the frame after removing the front radiator armor. That armor is heavy!
My friend made the radiator shroud for me it looked great after we installed it. Hours and hours of fitting and fiddling to get it all right.
