Post by 3rdCoast » Tue Nov 15, 2022 10:03 am

Can anyone on here please help me identify the model of Zenith Carburetor that is installed on our M3A1 Scout Car? And are rebuild kits available for them?

Thanks in Advance,
Chris

I believe it should have a Zenith series 29 carb on it. Might have better luck finding the correct carb?

This type I posted is shown in a Scout Car manual. I'm no Scout Car expert, but maybe mine is an earlier type used before the Model 29

Look very closely at the round tag riveted to the top. You may have to brush away a few layers of paint to find the model number there.

2 types were used, that one is the early style. The 29 was used on the majority of scout cars. I will dig to see what the model is. As far as kits, maybe find something in Europe. At one time I was thinking that carb was the same one used on another vehicle, again will do some digging.

Thank you very much Ron.

I seem to remember someone called "Scout Car Rob" here in the states. Does anyone know if they are still around?

Did you clean off and look at the round tag on top?

That round tag does not give the model number. The round tag says 92320. I have a model 29 zenith and that round tag reads 9982.

Thank you very much. IN167 is what I've been looking for. Now to find the bowl gasket

I have some NOS kits available for those early carbies if you are still looking.
