I wondered where that had gone to... more space in their yard now!
Enjoy the vehicle.

You were in England the same time as I was! Where were you at?adcomp0 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 23, 2022 10:34 amHi All,
Thanks for all the feedback and sorry for the lack of reply from my side. To update, I ended up flying over to the UK for a few days, looking at about 100 different vehicles. I found a great condition OT-64 Skot that had a recent engine replacement, wheel bearings lots if service history for the recent owner of the last 5 years. I purchased it, had it stripped and painted at Track and Wheel in the UK, shipped by Mike @IML and received it in GA about 2 months ago. Since the. I gave been getting familiar with it, got it road registered and insured (thanks Hagerty!), and did a few upgrades like cameras all around, extending the exhaust so it doesn't dump into the passenger compartment, and lots of sound insulation including a nice false wall behind the engine compartment. Belts have been changes and adjusted, all 140 suspension grease pints inspected and greased, cleaned the filters, etc. So running like a champ now!!
I know lots of people are wart of the OT-64, but after getting into it I am not too worried going forward (famous last words!). At any rate I am really enjoying the vehicle so far!

I have to ask, what is a V100 running for cost wise these days?

genreally 75k for a complete non-runner that needs complete resto, looking 125 and up for restored unit depending on the level of restoration. There are some very rare parts that need to be with it.
1) Transfer Case - 5000 up
2) Correct Winch - 5000 up
3) Gun mount system... TBD
4) Rims - 6000 up for a set
Lots of other parts.

I suspect the market for all Russian APC's of all sorts will be literally FLOODED soon. Virtually every farmer in Ukraine now has at least a few APC's and some tanks that are "fixer uppers" and furthermore, they pay no tax for selling them. SO.... just wait a bit until they throw the Russians out and you should be able to get an APC dirt cheap.
Small edit:
Not every farmer has a tank or an armored personnel carrier!
My friend lives in Ukraine. He has a destroyed Russian tank in his yard. But what good is it, except for scrap metal. He eats diesel fuel from 240 liters per 100 miles on a flat road.
Maybe someone wants to have to buy parts from the tank?
By the way: if someone needs parts from the APC dirt cheap., write me a private message.
