Re: M8 Restoration
We started to get into the engine compartment in an attempt to see if we could get the engine to turn over. Here is the new video of the teardown: https://youtu.be/_gX3lWx1QBs
Needless to say, without a lot of Kroil the teardown would have been much more complicated. We only snapped one bolt so I was very happy!
Most likely the next video will be lifting out the engine. Which seems like it might be a little bit of a pain.

Previously, I thought it was running. I do not see how you can get away with anything but a complete engine rebuild. All manifolds crack in service; they always have to be replaced.

Re: M8 Restoration
Weird thing is the manifold was literally filled with oil and none was leaking out. So once we get the engine out I'll look over the manifold thoroughly for cracks.

Re: M8 Restoration
I’d be thrilled to have it just as is!!!!!
I would search for the 37mm parts etc as time and money permitted and not worry about it too much. Hey, its as close to a Sherman as most of us are going to get. I’m working on an M3a1 scout car right now and i cant wait to get it to the finish line.
