I just put in a new throw out bearing, it is in correctly with the throw out bearing return spring attached.
The clutch pedal can be depressed but it only comes back as far as the pressure plate springs push it.
I can then pull the clutch pedal on back using my foot about four inches.
Is there an exterior clutch pedal return spring someplace???
Photographs would be great!
Thanks!
Ed

Yes there is an external clutch spring, got this photo out of the manual because I shipped my scout car out yesterday and have not gotten my next project home yet. Top of the photo, goes from the steering gear box to the pedal pin and there are small hooks on each end to hold it. Hope this helps, the last 2 I had luckily had the hooks still on them.

Maybe one of your Scout Cars were one of these in Ohio at Sam Winer's in the late 1980's? My Dad and I wen there to measure the back end armor as mine was gone...surprise surprise.
Any idea a number for the little distributor cap and points? All I can find are number for the big one.
Thanks,
ER
