Just doing a bit of parts research. One of the key wear points in the ignition system is the bushing used for the dizzy shaft. Replacing and properly fitting a new bushing makes all the difference with unsolved timing issues.

I found a listing for the lot 5 and up dizzy (IGC4708) bushing. The PN is IG-579A which cross references to a NAPA Echlin part 4270 which is available for $5.99

I'll update the chart soon. Of course, it would be nice to confirm the match

Hi all

Can anyone confirm that the clutch throwout bearing crossover part is correct? It is listed as SKF N1171 or Aetna A-2526. However, Steve M8 reports that these same part numbers are correct for his M8 on the M8/M20 Crossover list:

I'm holding both the White Scout Car and M8 clutch throwout bearings and and they are different sizes - both ID and OD. Can anyone confirm then a part number for the White Scout Car throwout bearing?

Thanks.

I removed my scout car throw out bearing Schatz #1087, took it to my Napa parts store and they matched it up to an Aetna 2256 bearing and they look identical, NOT a 2526 part number. The Aetna 2256 bearing was in a #1087 SKF bearing labeled box. They look identical to me. He said it was same part, different company number.

Thanks Dawgman

I did a search on EBay and there seems to be a number of variants of that Aetna 2256. Can you confirm if yours has any extra numbers?

Based on others experiences I purchased a Federal 2065-T and an AMN833 but neither looks quite right.

Try SKF N1087 or 1087, that’s a good number also and is what I had on the scout when I tore it apart. They linked 1087 to Aetna 2256 at the parts shop, both the same but different stock numbers and manufacturers. There are a few 1087 listed on eBay. It’s just Aetna 2256, no other numbers on the bearing I bought. They look identical.
Now, my problem is getting the peened/swaged on retaining nut off my input shaft to replace the main input bearing MRC 211mfg! I may just have to reassemble the transmission with the old input bearing if I have to destroy the old retaining nut to get it off, I don’t know the replacement number for the nut either.
Let me know if you need help getting the throw out bearing.
